Daily update is a quick, efficient meeting that allows teammates to share work status updates. Unlike the traditional synchronous meeting, daily updates can be held asynchronously so teammates can share their progress at a time that works best for them. Teams may choose to broadcast their daily updates in an existing team channel or create a dedicated one.

To enable the daily updates feature in your Action, configure an intent as a triggering intent and set the daily update option as the response. When a user invokes the intent, they’ll receive a notification that opens the daily update conversation—you can even personalize the content of this conversation by adding custom parameters to the daily updates registration dialogue (depending on how your Action is configured for Assistant integration).

In addition to providing context for daily update, it’s important to provide the right prompt sequence in order to increase users’ likelihood of subscribing. This means showing the benefit of the feature before asking them to subscribe, and avoiding repeated requests for subscription in other contexts.

Some teams encourage their teammates to use daily updates as an opportunity to openly discuss challenges they’re facing or how they’ve overcome them—collecting and sharing these insights can help the team improve performance. For other teams, the goal is to ensure that the team’s short-term goals are clear and visible.
